Early morning in Manchester, and already the outside of Eventcity had begun to get busy, as people eagerly anticipated the grand opening of the Ideal Home Show. I see a few celebrities getting ready to cut the ribbon such as interior design guru Laurence Llewelyn Bowen, money expert Martin Lewis and presenter of amazing spaces – George Clark.
Once inside the show, you were greeted with a Brass band and huge lampshade displays in an array of designs and colours.
The Plumbs stand all set to greet visitors in the interiors section, and our Mini sofa was still attracting many passers-by.
Surrounding us in the interiors section were room sets created by stores such as Next, John Lewis and Laura Ashley.
Living is Easy for Less - Homesense
I love how the miss-match of colours and styles work in harmony together to create an eclectic yet stylish room.
Cosy, Flamboyant Florals – Laura Ashley
One of my favourite aspects of these rooms sets were these origami paper birds on the walls by Laura Ashley, they add a sense of fun and are a great way to use leftover wallpaper.
The Coastal Room - Next
The subtle colours and natural materials create a soothing and liveable space.
As well as being truly inspired by these gorgeous room sets, I also saw some very bold and dramatic accessories and furniture. This patchwork upholstered chair caught my eye, although I’m not sure I could live with such a striking piece!
Overall the Ideal Home Show was a great place to go if you’re considering home improvements or if you were looking for an interesting day out. If interiors aren’t your thing then there was much more to keep you entertained, such as the Greg Wallace restaurant, many food and cooking stalls, plus an array of health and beauty products, all under one roof!
We look forward to seeing you next year!
