Plumbs on Trend

Published by Emma Day in Reupholstery, stripes

Matching red and gold has been an interior design trend for some time, whether that be the trimmings on your Christmas tree or an opulent style statement that lasts all year round.

This colour match is sure to be around for a long time, so it’s worth investing in quality pieces and materials that will last.  Our brand new Venetian and Venetian Stripe fabrics in Claret and Gold (shown reupholstered below) are part of our new autumn range, and are the perfect way to inject this trend into your living room.  These two fabrics work in harmony to ensure that each individual pattern is not overpowering, and the stripes add a contemporary feel to this look.

Plumbs Reupholstery

This Venetian fabric has been upholstered onto a traditional rolled armed sofa, and the Venetian Stripe onto a classic footstool, although this fabric will work on a range of different furniture types.

To accessorize this look- match with muted metallic tones (also another big trend at the moment) such as matt-finished lamps and subdued golds.  Pick out the the red and gold colours on the fabric using flowers and plants. Try to keep grand accessories to a minimum as this velvet – feel fabric should take centre stage in your design.

If you would like to incorporate opulent reds and golds into your home contact Plumbs for a FREE home consultation and your home consultant can show you our range of over 600 fabrics, including our new Autumn collection, in the comfort of your own home.
